Charnwood Borough Council is the local Planning Authority and they have full powers when considering planning applications.

Hoton Parish Council is consulted on all applications falling within the parish boundary. These are considered at meetings of the Parish Council and any comments are sent to Charnwood Borough Council. Members of the public are welcome to attend our Parish Council meetings and can speak in the section allocated for members of the public.

For residents, you must be aware of the Conservation Area as this imposes further restrictions should your property be located within it.
